Prior to joining The Africa Channel, Eric Price Brown erved as President of Western Division Operations for Charter Communications.

Previously, he was President of the Minnesota Division of Time Warner Cable. Before that, he held various senior operations and marketing positions with Time Warner Cable, Century Communications, Times Mirror Cable Television and Digital Music Express.

Brown has also worked for Landmark Communications, parent company of The Weather Channel, where he served as President of its Education Services Division and as New Ventures Director. He has held senior product management positions with a variety of consumer product companies, including Bumble Bee Seafoods, H.J. Heinz/StarKist Seafoods, and The Proctor & Gamble Company.

A board member of the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) Foundation, Brown was one of the founding members of the Minnesota chapter. Brown also serves as Chairman of the California Cable and Telecommunications Association. Brown volunteers his time to serve on the Board of Directors of the Long Beach City College Foundation, the Long Beach Library Foundation, and the Long Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau. Brown has been a WICT member since joining the industry in 1993, and in October was the recipient of the 2005 WICT Southern California Chapter Advocate Leader Award, one of only two men ever to receive the award. Last year Brown was honored with the National Cable & Telecommunications Association Vanguard Award.

A graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Brown was a four time All-American in track and field. He also played football at UCLA and was drafted to play for the Seattle Seahawks following graduation but elected to pursue his graduate degree instead. He earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Darden School of Business Management at the University of Virginia, and has completed post-graduate work including the NAMIC Executive Leadership Development Program (ELDP) at the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA, and CTAMU at the Harvard Business School.
